Library of Science (Biblioteka Nauki)
An open-access, full-text database recording articles from scientific journals, books and chapters in books published in Poland. More than 40% of publications are available under Creative Commons free licences.
CYBRA – Lodz Regional Digital Library
A digital library containing the collections of academic libraries of Lodz, including Lodz University of Technology. The collection of Lodz University of Technology includes digital objects digitised on an ongoing basis since 2005. CYBRA provides access to books, journals and publications of Lodz University of Technology in full text, if copyright legislation allows it.
AGH University electronic journals
Full texts of articles published in electronic journals of the AGH University of Science and Technology. They cover science, engineering, but also humanities and economics.
Journal of Continuing Education
A peer-reviewed scientific journal. Provides full texts of articles on the theory, methodology of work pedagogy, andragogy, vocational counselling, educational problems of the labour market since 1993. It is addressed to academics, organisers, lecturers, trainers and people involved in formal and informal education.
DLF Digital Libraries Federation (FBC Federacja Bibliotek Cyfrowych)
A search engine aggregating the electronic resources of digital libraries or digital repositories. Many of the full-text resources have expired copyright (public domain) or the authors and/or publishers have agreed to make them available electronically or they have been licensed under a Creative Commons free licence. Some resources – covered by copyright – are available locally to the institution's community.
INFONA
A scientific communication portal created by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling at the University of Warsaw. The site includes Polish open scientific resources and services purchased under a national licence (e.g. ACS, Elsevier, IEEE, Springer and Wiley).
Navoica.pl
A platform recommended by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for open e-learning courses at university level offered by Polish universities and scientific institutions.
Open AGH e-manuals
A service for open electronic academic textbooks in mathematics, physics and chemistry developed by academics at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow.
Open AGH open resources
A service of open educational resources covering many subjects. The resources have been developed by academic teachers of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. They support teaching and knowledge acquisition at the university.
OpenStax Poland
The service provides free academic textbooks published in the USA, in English and translated into Polish. Currently, physics, psychology, microeconomics and macroeconomics are available in Polish.
PAN – Reading Room for Journals
Full-text journals published by committees and branches of the Polish Academy of Sciences representing knowledge from all scientific disciplines.
PRESSto
A platform of open-access, full-text scientific journals from many fields of knowledge, published on a regular basis by the Adam Mickiewicz’s University in Poznan.
BazHum
A bibliographic database registering articles from Polish scientific humanities and social science journals. It collects metadata from the entire content of the journals – from the first issues to the current ones.
Botanical databases of the Institute of Botany of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Krakow
Botanical databases created by the Wladysław Szafer’s Institute of Botany (PAS in Krakow). They include information on vascular plants, plant sanctuaries in Poland, botanical bibliography, database of botanical journals with links to full texts.
Regional Bibliography of the Łódzkie Region
Records up-to-date bibliographic information on the region of Lodz. It registers various types of materials, including books, articles, cartographic documents.
Central Geological Database
The database comprises of a set of digital geological data including detailed information on boreholes, archival geological documentation, studies on various fields of geology and geological maps, data on Polish caves and many other information.
GIS – Food Economy Information System (SIGŻ – System Informacji o Gospodarce Żywnościowej)
Bibliographic and abstract database with linked full texts of publications published since 1981. It registers up-to-date bibliographic data and abstracts of articles from Polish journals, serial publications, books, post-conference materials and legal acts. Thematically it covers: agriculture, food industry, non-timber forestry, education and the dissemination of agricultural knowledge.
BazTOL
A domain guide to quality-controlled web resources (subject gateway). The portal brings together descriptions (with current web addresses) of Polish scientific publications, databases, websites and services on the web. The resources are related to technical sciences and oriented towards academic interests. Resource updated until the end of 2021.
Geoportal of Spatial Information Infrastructure
The service provides access to spatial data, from those contained in the State Boundary Register, to the location of utilities to the location of hydrants or information on road surface material. It mediates access to spatial data and related services and is, thus, the central node of the Spatial Information Infrastructure.
GUS – publications
Information portal of the Central Statistical Office offering access to statistical publications and statistical databases.
Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute
Service containing up-to-date data on hydrogeology, as well as hydrological reports, links to publications, a wide variety of geological data.
Virtual Library of Science
A platform with up-to-date information on making the world's most important knowledge resources available to academic and scientific institutions in Poland. It provides information on national licences but also on consortium licences and Polish open scientific resources.

AQUASTAT
A global information system on water resources and water management in agriculture. One component is a database that presents indicators and variables on, for example, water abstraction by sector and source, conventional and non-conventional water resources, irrigation areas and techniques and land use. Data in the database can be generated for more than 200 countries worldwide for the period 1958 to 2019. It is also possible to export the displayed data to a spreadsheet.
ASCE Library
The database records journal articles, books, conference proceedings, technical reports and civil engineering standards published by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Access to abstract level only.
Bildindex
A database in which cultural and scientific institutions – museums, historic preservation offices, libraries, universities and research institutes – collectively publish and make openly available their collections of images and data about art and architecture.
BioMed Central Open Access
Registry service for peer-reviewed journals in biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, biotechnology, organic chemistry, ecology and nutrition and medicine, made available in an open access model.
BRENDA
A database that is the most comprehensive and open repository of enzyme information. Data are taken directly from the primary literature by scientists with degrees in biology or chemistry. It is developed by the Institute of Biochemistry and Bioinformatics at the Technical University of Braunschweig.
Cambridge Journals
A multi-disciplinary service recording journal articles and book chapters from Cambridge University Press. You can search the contents of the database and read abstracts. Some journals are available in full texts in the open access model.
CERN Document Server
Information system of the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) registering books, articles and reports, including in the fields of energy, atomic science and physics. Many publications are made available full-text in an open access model.
ChEMBL
Open chemical database of bioactive molecules with drug-like properties. Combines chemical, bioactivity and genomic data.
CODA – The Caltech Collection of Open Digital Archives
A collection of open digital archives with full-text scientific publications from Caltech – California Institute of Technology. Includes CaltechAUTHORS (staff research publications), CalethDATA (research data repository), CaltechTHESIS (doctoral, engineering, master's and undergraduate student theses produced since 2002).

A service providing access to the full texts of peer-reviewed academic books published in an open access model by various publishers.
Directory of Open Access Journals
A service that aims to index and provide access to high quality open access, peer-reviewed academic journals from around the world. It allows subject-based searches and gives access to full-text articles.
EconPapers
The service provides the world's largest collection of economics content, including professional and industry publications, reports, and academic journal articles.
EECS Technical Reports
A service containing the full text of EECS (Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, Berkley University) technical reports and documentation since 1962.
EECS Ph.D. Dissertations
A service containing the full texts of doctoral dissertations (Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, Berkley University) since 1935.

Emerald Insight
Emerald Publishing's academic journal service. Contains journal articles and chapters from books in economics, management, engineering, computer science, technology and social sciences. Some publications are made available in full text in an open access manner.
EMIS – European Mathematical Information Service
A public service under the auspices of the European Mathematical Society consisting of literature databases (Mathematics Literature Databases – e.g. Zentralblatt MATH, recording publications since 1826) and an open mathematical repository (ELibM – Electronic Library of Mathematics). Full texts of books, journals and conference proceedings can be found here.
eScholarship
University of California open publications platform. Provides access to journal articles, books, dissertations in a wide range of scientific fields authored by staff and students of the university, as well as the university's own publications published in accordance with its open access policy. Provides access to full texts in science and technology, medicine, economics and other fields.
EuDML – European Digital Mathematics Library
A service providing access to mathematical documents published on an open access basis. In addition to the standard options, it offers the possibility to search by formula or mathematical classification.
EUR-Lex
This database contains the legal acts of the European Union. It gives access, free of charge, to the Official Journal of the European Union, EU legislation (EU treaties, directives, regulations, decisions, consolidated legislation, etc.), preparatory acts (legislative proposals, reports, green and white papers, etc.), EU case law (judgments, orders, etc.), international agreements, EFTA documents, summaries of EU legislation. Documents can be read in 24 official EU languages.
European Geosciences Union
The service provides open access to the full texts of publications on earth, space and planetary sciences. It contains articles on a wide range of topics, including volcanology, astronomy, the internal structure of the Earth and atmosphere, climate and energy, and resources. There are also other publications including the Encyclopaedia of Geosciences in which entries are cross-referenced with literature – most of it in full-text.
IDEAS
The largest bibliographic database on economics, freely available online. The database links to full texts.
INIS – International Nuclear Information System
Database on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, under the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna). Contains bibliographic descriptions and abstracts of journal articles, reports, conference proceedings, books, patents, dissertations, legislation and standards.

- nuclear reactors;
- applications of radiation and radioactivity in medicine, agriculture, pest control and industry;
- economic and environmental aspects of the use of nuclear energy and other energy sources;

J-STAGE
Multidisciplinary Japanese scientific publication service. Indexes mainly journal articles, less frequently conference proceedings or reports. Most publications are available open access and under free licences.
JSTOR
Multi-disciplinary scientific publication service from various publishers. Registers journal articles, books and research reports. Provides metadata and abstracts. Some publications are open access.
Khan Academy
Open educational materials (also in Polish), including courses and films which will allow you to explore knowledge in many fields in an attractive way.
MatWeb
Database on the properties of engineering materials. Data sheets are provided by material manufacturers and distributors. The MatWeb database provides access to datasheets for thermoplastic and thermoset polymers, metals, alloys, ceramics and semiconductors, fibres and other engineering materials.
MDPI
MDPI's publisher service, featuring open access journals from various scientific disciplines. It provides free access to the latest research – all content is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) licence.
Mindat.org
The Mindat.org database, maintained by The Hudson Institute of Mineralogy, is a treasure trove of knowledge about minerals and their occurrence in rocks, deposits and mines. Mindat.org brings together a wealth of information, such as detailed data on a selected mineral including a description of physical and chemical properties, identification, classification, optical and crystallographic data, maps with deposits occurring in the selected location and explanations of key mineralogical terms.
MIT Open Course Ware
A scientific and innovative learning platform from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, providing access to open scientific papers in the form of courses, videos and open textbooks. Through teaching, research and innovation, the MIT community is on a mission to serve the entire world. The service is recommended for faculty as well as students or other interested parties.

A library of academic books in open access, with full-text downloads.
Openstax.org
A service of open full-text academic textbooks in English developed by American universities. Many comprehensive textbooks are currently available, including those on anatomy and physiology, chemistry, biology, physics, astronomy, statistics, micro and macroeconomics or psychology. All titles can be downloaded as PDF files or used online.

Multidisciplinary open access textbook service, allows searches from a specific discipline.
OSTI.gov
The service contains bibliographic and abstract descriptions and full texts of scientific research reports, conference proceedings, journal articles, books, doctoral dissertations and patent descriptions since 1940 in the fields of chemistry, energy, physics, biology and medicine, environmental sciences, geology, engineering, mathematics and computer science. The publisher of the database is the US Department of Energy.
Oxford Journals
The Oxford University Press service allows you to access articles from journals published by the university, mainly in the social sciences and humanities, medicine, law and the sciences. Some of the publications are made available in full text in open access. Articles can be searched on the site according to various criteria.

PLoS – Public Library of Science
Publisher's service for journals in both the biological and medical sciences as well as multidisciplinary journals. Publications are available in an open access model.
Proceedings of the National Academy of Science USA
One of the most highly cited and comprehensive multidisciplinary scientific journals. Contains publications since 1915 in the sciences – including mathematics, physics, biology, biophysics, chemistry, ecology – as well as the social sciences. The full texts of most publications are made openly available.
Project Euclid
The service registers journal articles in mathematics, statistics and computer science. More than 80% of the publications are made available in open access full text.
Project Gutenberg
An electronic book library containing scanned fiction publications from around the world.
PubChem
The world's largest open source of chemical information with literature and patents. Allows you to search for chemicals by name, molecular formula, structure and other identifiers. Provides chemical and physical properties, biological activity, safety and toxicity information.
PubMed
Source of scientific information in the field of medicine. Indexes biomedical documents as well as content from life sciences journals and online books. Much of the resource is available in full text.
Science.gov
A portal offering free access to research results and scientific and technical information from US government organizations and federal agencies. Allows to search databases of federal scientific agencies and scientific websites. Provides free journal articles, peer-reviewed books and research reports.
SCIRP – Scientific Research Publishing
Academic publication service: journals, books and conference materials covering a wide range of scientific disciplines. Publications are made available in an open model.
Research Collection ETH
The database contains scientific publications, theses, journal articles, lecture materials, conference reports, annual reports, staff books, staff master's and doctoral theses and research data of the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich. A significant part of the works is published in open access, under open licenses and even in the public domain.
